The types of seafood products handled by each section and their sources and buyers are hereby described in detail.
A wide range of customer needs are accommodated through a diverse array of products, including fish roe, frozen fish, salmon, processed products, prawns, and shellfish.
Section 1

Fish roe, including herring roe, sujiko salted salmon roe, ikura salted salmon roe, mentaiko spicy salted cod roe, tarako salted cod roe, and other types of fish eggs
This section primarily handles fish roe products.
This section purchases, from overseas sources, fish roe primarily harvested from the northern waters of the United States, Canada, and Russia as well as from sources found throughout Japan, sells ingredients and products obtained from domestic and overseas processors to volume retailers and restaurants in line with demand, and then sells ingredients that have been commercialized at plants run by contracted partners. In recent years, the demand for the selling of fish roe products directly to consumers through online companies has increased, and new sales channels are being proactively cultivated.

Mackerel, squid, cod, northern species of fish, southern species of fish, ocean perch, halibut, sablefish, toothfish, and various types of filets
This section sells a wide variety of frozen fish to volume retailers, processors, wholesale dealers, markets, and others.
A huge variety of frozen fish and seafood—including saury, ocean perch, mackerel, sablefish, yellowtail, squid, herring, jack mackerel, halibut, Spanish mackerel, cod, horse mackerel, sardines, toothfish, pollack, sea bream, and southern fish (silver and whitefish)—are handled by this section. The bulk of these products are purchased from overseas, but fish is sometimes bought from markets throughout Japan. The ability to engage in dynamic work involving large quantities of product, which is made possible when fish are handled from the time they are still in their unprocessed state, can explain in part what makes handling frozen fish so appealing. In order to accommodate the needs of our customers, our frozen fish operations include the selling of raw materials to processors and the planning, formulation, and selling of products for end-user sales. We meet the diverse needs of customers by naturally focusing on freshness and quality concerns by working to ensure that transactions are undertaken at reasonable prices and expanding our network of contacts and collecting information through participation in domestic and overseas seafood conventions and other such events.

Frozen salmon and trout, salted salmon and trout, and loin filets for sashimi
This section supports the domestic distribution of salmon and trout, which are popular with men and women of all ages.
Natural chum salmon (autumn or white salmon), sockeye salmon, trout, farmed coho salmon (silver salmon), and Atlantic salmon are primarily handled by this section. Products are directly purchased from overseas producers in Chile, Norway, the United States, and elsewhere as well as domestic producers in Hokkaido and Miyagi prefectures. Products that match needs in light of the scale and regional characteristics of buyers consisting of volume retailers and restaurants as well as the season and other factors are proposed and sold. Salmon and trout are broadly popular among men and women of all ages regardless of the country in which they live. They are especially popular as a type of sushi, and the demand for inbound products in Japan is rising. In order to be positioned to be able to respond effectively to such needs, we are proactively developing and proposing new products.

Various types of products, crab, and fish roe for volume retailers and the restaurant industry
This section handles processed products for volume retailers as well as crab.
Processed products for volume retailers (such as dried fish, packaged products, and frozen seafood mixes) and crab are primarily handled. When it comes to processed products for volume retailers, products are purchased in bulk from processors and manufacturers across the country and stored in warehouses before being sold in small lots to major supermarkets nationwide and local volume retailers and restaurants. While painstakingly dealing with the diverse needs of its customers, this section aims to build relationships of trust with partners every day to the extent that they will be eager to consult us whenever they run into issues of any sort. Imported crab products produced in Russia or the United States and crab products produced in Hokkaido are purchased from trading companies and manufacturers and then sold to markets, wholesale dealers, processing manufacturers, restaurants, and other buyers across Japan. In order to offer customers more delicious, higher quality crab at relatively affordable prices, we are also developing a private brand with a focus on taste, freshness, and quality.

Prawns in general
This section purchases a wide variety of prawns from all around the globe and sells them in Japan.
This section primarily handles farmed prawns (whiteleg shrimp and black tiger shrimp) but also handles wild prawns (such as Argentine red shrimp, sweet shrimp, and Japanese tiger prawns). Products are purchased from domestic sources as well as many different countries around the world, including mainly Indonesia, Vietnam, and other Southeast Asian countries and such countries as Russia, China, Denmark, India, and Greenland, and then sold to markets, wholesale dealers, processing manufacturers, volume retailers, and others in Japan. We are also proactively developing a private brand in order to offer customers more delicious, higher quality prawns. Since prawns have come to be farmed and caught in a number of different countries and regions, we have been laying the groundwork to purchase Ecuadorian prawns, the production of which has been growing in recent years.

Eels, sea urchins, mollusks, octopus, and processed products
This section handles kabayaki eel, sushi, and processed raw ingredients for delicacies and side dishes.
This section primarily handles kabayaki eel, sushi, and processed raw ingredients (squid, jellyfish, sea urchins, octopus, and sea snails). Eel products are purchased from domestic sources in such places as Aichi, Shizuoka, and Kagoshima and from overseas sources in China and Taiwan and then sold to volume retailers and restaurants in Japan. Sushi products processed in China and Southeast Asia are purchased and then sold to volume retailers and restaurants in Japan. As for processed raw ingredients, products are purchased from China, Southeast Asia, western Asia, Oceania, northern Europe and other parts of Europe, South America, and elsewhere and then sold to domestic processing manufacturers. This section engages in precise marketing practices to determine what products are accepted in what markets, harnesses such information in its purchasing and selling activities, and aims at all times to pursue a triple-pronged approach to trading that benefits sellers, buyers, and the world at large. There is also a focus on developing new products in order to raise the profile of lesser-known products in Japan.

Scallops, oysters, and other bivalves as well as sweetfish
This section handles scallops, oysters, and other bivalves as well as sweetfish.
This section handles scallops, oysters, and other bivalves (mainly razor clams and Manila clams) as well as sweetfish. Accounting for approximately eighty percent of this section's sales, scallops are purchased domestically from processing manufacturers in Hokkaido and Aomori and then sold to supermarkets, markets, wholesale dealers, and processing manufacturers across Japan as well as to overseas buyers in such places as the United States, China, Taiwan, Europe, and Southeast Asia. With demand for scallops that are popular around the globe being high, we field a constant flow of inquiries. In order to satisfy such needs, we build excellent relationships and ensure that transactions are reliably carried out while maintaining close ties to producers and buyers. Oysters are primarily purchased from domestic manufacturers and then sold to volume retailers and restaurants. Sweetfish are purchased from domestic sources in Tokushima and from overseas sources in China and Taiwan and then sold to volume retailers, wholesale dealers, and others.

Import operations and import management
This section is in charge of overall trade operations for each section.
Section 8 is in charge of the series of trading operations encompassing everything from contracting to import customs clearance and purchase accounting tasks as they pertain to products purchased by the sales representatives of each section from overseas sources. Specifically, this section is in charge of maintaining import-related operations on a consistent basis as they apply to, among other tasks, the preparation of contracts with exporters from whom products are purchased, the conducting of external settlement transactions with banks for the payment of cargo goods, the conducting of transactions overseas for the confirmation of shipping documents, coordination with forwarders (customs brokers and shipping agents) and customs and other official bodies as concerns procedures for customs clearance procedures, the checking of laws and regulations as concerns import procedures, and cost and purchase accounting. Using specialized knowledge and skills as they pertain to import procedures, this section coordinates with overseas trading partners with different cultures and business practices to ensure operations for the facilitation of trade. Important tasks in terms of maintaining contact and coordinating with relevant parties in Japan, including bank forwarders and pertinent government agencies, are also under the purview of this section.
Salt Drying Section

Shirasu, chirimen, and various processed seafood products
Shirasu (young white fish) and kachiri (dried shirasu) are purchased at markets and sold throughout Japan.
This section handles dried sardines, dried squid, and processed products (such as packaged products, dried fish, and pickled fish) with a focus on shirasu (young white fish) and kachiri (dried shirasu). Shirasu and kachiri are primarily purchased from Toyosu Market and otherwise domestically from sources operating in the Pacific Ocean from west of Fukushima to Kagoshima, the Seto Inland Sea, and Osaka Bay. They are also procured from overseas markets in South Korea and Indonesia. Dried sardines and processed products are also primarily purchased from the Toyosu Market and otherwise domestically from markets in Japan. Ingredients for dried squid products from Japan as well as China and Russia are purchased from domestic markets and the products are sold to a diverse range of customers, including restaurants, hospitals, hotels, and inns. This section is the only one in the company that participates in auctions, which is where the ability to read market prices and examine commodities is being honed on a daily basis. This section has also begun to make preparations to partner with business connections in order to begin handling Antarctic krill as a new product.
